Gigabyte X570 Aorus Pro WiFi
9/10 (Expert Score)Meta-review: Based on advantages such as a sophisticated VRM – and a great overall feature set in its price category – testers were generally positive about the X570 Aorus Pro. There were some concerns regarding e.g. the M.2 slot layout and some software bloat.
Description
As of mid-2019, the Gigabyte X570 Aorus lineup includes five different ATX motherboards including the Aorus Pro. In addition, there is an ITX model that is also named Aorus Pro, but this page discusses the ATX board. In terms of features and pricing, the X570 Aorus Pro is situated below the Aorus Ultra and just above the entry-level Aorus Elite, although it has more in common with the Ultra model. It’s available with or without an onboard Wi-Fi 6/ax chip.
X570 Aorus Pro (WiFi): Key Features
AMD launched the X570 chipset in July 2019 along with its much-anticipated Ryzen 3000-series CPUs. The AM4 socket is still in use, however, meaning that 3rd-gen Ryzen CPUs can also be used with previous-gen motherboards such as the X470 and B450. The X570 platform has comparatively high minimum specs, but what makes it unique is that it introduces the PCI Express (PCIe) v 4.0 interface on the consumer market. At the time of launch, the main advantage of PCIe 4 is that it offers twice the bandwidth for compatible storage devices. Gigabyte’s X570 Aorus Pro has two M.2 slots, which are both PCIe 4.0 enabled and come with included heatsinks.
Compared to the adjacent models, the more expensive X570 Ultra has an additional M.2 slot, as well as a faster Realtek 2.5GbE controller in addition to the Intel Gigabit variety found in the Pro. The 14-phase digital PowIRstage (12+2) VRM, on the other hand, appears to be identical to the one used on the more expensive Ultra – a more sophisticated VRM compared to the more affordable Elite. Other than the power delivery components, the Pro also supports SLI, unlike the Elite model.
There are two versions of the X570 Aorus Pro, with or without onboard Wi-Fi 6/802.11ax. At launch in 2019, this and every other X570-based motherboard includes four RAM slots for up to 128 GB (4x 32 GB modules) of dual-channel DDR4. All of the Aorus boards support (overclocked) RAM speeds of up to 4400 MHz.
The I/O shield is pre-integrated and there are two addressable LED strip headers, as well as a CPU cooler LED strip header.

The Aorus X570 Pro is a “mid-range” motherboard in Gigabyte’s lineup. However, since AMD’s X570 can be considered a premium platform, no motherboard with this chipset is particularly cheap.
Reviews
Even with the board being in the “3rd tier” down when it comes to Gigabyte’s naming and feature conventions, the Pro WiFi delivers enthusiast features at a price that doesn’t pound the bank account too hard.
The Gigabyte X570 AORUS Pro WiFi is an attractive, simple, and elegant motherboard. The VRM, while not as overbuilt as on some competitors, makes up for the “lack” of current output with more sophistication.
The Gigabyte X570 Aorus Pro Wi-Fi proved itself to perform well in the stock testing as well overclocking, handling these stressful situations with ease.
