Description
The ROG (Republic of Gamers) Strix X570-F is part of Asus’ lineup of motherboards using the AMD X570 chipset, which was released in 2019 along with AMD’s 3rd-generation Ryzen processors (CPUs). These CPUs use the same socket (AM4) as previous Ryzen generations, but the X570 chipset is only intended for the 2nd and 3rd generation. In Asus’ X570 range, the Strix X570-F is a scaled-down version of the Strix X570-E and sits right above the manufacturer’s affordable mainstream motherboards with the Prime and TUF brandings.
Asus ROG Strix X570-F Key Features
Many features of the X570-F are identical to the X570-E, but the F model substitutes dual Ethernet controllers for a single Intel Gigabit controller. It also lacks built-in Wi-Fi 6 and has less USB 3 Gen2 ports. Asus has also shaved off a couple of power stages from the F model.

Like its slightly more expensive sibling, the ROG Strix X570-F comes with an actively cooled chipset but a slightly less capable 14 stage power delivery solution instead of the 16 phases on the X570-E.
The board has two slots for M.2 SSDs, which are both compatible with the new (as of 2019) PCIe 4.0 interface that doubles theoretical bandwidth compared to its predecessor. There are four RAM slots for a total of up to 128 GB (4x 32 GB) of DDR4 (dual-channel).
For users wanting to connect RGB equipment, the X570-F is equipped with addressable RGB headers using Asus’ Aura Sync RGB lighting technology, in addition to lighting effects on the board. The I/O shield is pre-mounted for easy installation and there’s also a BIOS Flashback feature.
Reviews
At the time of writing, there were no professional reviews of this board available. We would nevertheless not recommend this motherboard, based on the similar pricing but noticeably reduced feature set compared to the otherwise similar Strix X570-E.
