Superb power delivery components
PROS:
Expensive
The Aorus X570 Master sits right below the Xtreme in Gigabyte’s lineup of X570-based motherboards. It shares several features with the flagship model but is considerably less expensive. It’s also physically smaller as it uses the standard ATX form factor instead of the Xtreme’s uncommon E-ATX. And while the VRM has been trimmed down compared to the top model, it’s still a high-end power delivery setup that should satisfy everyone but the most extreme overclocker.
X570 Aorus Master Key Features
While not quite as full-featured as the Aorus X570 Xtreme, the Aorus Master is still an enthusiast-class motherboard that uses exclusively high-end components. Power delivery is handled by a direct 14-phase Infineon digital VRM (12+2, 50A), which is cooled by what Gigabyte calls a direct touch heat pipe and fins-array heatsink. Like most other motherboards based on the same chipset, the Aorus Master is also equipped with a chipset fan.
One of the key features introduced with the X570 chipset is PCI Express (PCIe) 4.0, which doubles the theoretical transfer rates for components such as GPUs and SSDs. Gigabyte has taken full advantage of the improved potential storage speed by including three PCIe 4-enabled M.2 slots, all of which can be covered by the Aorus Master’s included heatsinks. This provides an additional ultra-fast storage slot compared to other high-end offerings such as the Asus Crosshair VIII Hero.
The motherboard has four RAM slots for up to 128 GB (4x 32 GB) of DDR4 RAM, operating in dual-channel mode at speeds up to 4400 MHz (OC).
In terms of networking, the Aorus Master includes dual Ethernet controllers, including one gigabit Intel module and a Realtek 2.5Gbit chip. A Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax module with Bluetooth 5.0 is also included.

The Aorus X570 Master is positioned between the flagship model Xtreme and the not quite as full-featured Aorus Ultra motherboard. Compared to the Xtreme model, the VRM has been trimmed down from a direct 16-phase variant (70A) to a 14-phase Infineon VRM (50A, 12+2). The Ultra model comes with a 14-phase digital PowIRstage. All of the three top models are equipped with triple M.2 slots and Wi-Fi 6.
If appearance matters but you can’t sacrifice key features like ample M.2 slots or powerful audio, the X570 AORUS MASTER is definitely worth considering.
