Gigabyte, or GIGA-BYTE Technology, is a multinational Taiwan-based computer hardware manufacturer. The company was founded in 1986 and has since become one of the world’s leading manufacturers of motherboards (second only to Asus). In the PC gaming hardware area, the Taiwanese manufacturer also uses its sub-brand Aorus for high-end motherboards, graphics cards, SSDs, laptops, and other gaming-oriented products.
Unlike several other PC parts manufacturers, Gigabyte does not limit itself to Intel, AMD or Nvidia platforms, but builds motherboards and graphics cards based on any of these.
In addition to its self-branded products, Gigabyte is also an ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) that has manufactured products for other brands such as Alienware, Origin PC and others.
