Steam libraries tend to get cluttered over time. After a number of sales, you are likely to have quite a few games that you rarely (or ever) play. With that in mind, you may want to do some house cleaning every now and then by hiding or in some cases even removing games from Steam. Consequently, this article will go over how to hide, unhide or remove games altogether from your library.

How To Hide Games On Steam

If you want to hide games from Steam’s main view, then you should:

1. Launch Steam
2. Head into your Steam Library
3. Right click on the game you want to hide (or press the gear icon on the game’s main page)
4. Highlight manage
5. Select hide this game

How To Unhide Games On Steam

Once your game has been hidden, you might want to unhide it for when you change your mind and want to play it again. If you want to unhide your game on Steam, then you need to:

1. Launch Steam
2. Click on view
3. Select hidden games
4. Head to the game page
5. Select the gear icon (or right-click)
6. Highlight mange
7. Select remove from hidden

How To Remove Games From Steam

To remove a game from your account, you first should uninstall it. Following the steps below to remove a game from Steam:

1. Launch Steam
2. Head into your Steam Library
3. Select the game you want to remove (uninstall)
4. Press the gear icon (or right-click)
5. Highlight mange
6. Select Uninstall
7. Click the Support link (game’s page)
8. Select the option “I want to permanently remove this game from my account.”

You will be asked to confirm if you want to proceed. Note that once you do confirm, the game will no longer be linked to your Steam account. It will need to be repurchased if you change your mind. Alternatively, you can hide the game or uninstall it and reinstall it later if you do not want to buy the game again.

How To Make Steam Profile Private?

You can have your Steam profile set to private if you do not want to see which games you have in your account or what you have been playing. To do that:

1. Launch Steam
2. Click on the Avatar icon that has your username with it
3. Select view profile
4. Select edit profile
5. Select Privacy Settings
6. Select My Profile
7. Select Friends Only or Private

With Friends Only selected, your friends will still be able to see your profile. Select Private if you do not want anyone to see your activity.
