Aorus is Gigabyte’s premium brand, meaning that the Aorus RTX 4090 Master 24G is the manufacturer’s top-tier air-cooled variant. As it also uses Nvidia’s 2022/2023 flagship GPU, it is also among the fastest graphics cards overall in this generation.
Like other RTX 4090 cards, the Aorus model is suitable for 4K gaming at maximum settings. It competes with other premium air-cooled RTX 4090 variants such as the Asus Strix RTX 4090 OC.

Gigabyte’s Aorus RTX 4090 MASTER 24G, as the name states, comes with 24GB of GDDR6X memory that runs at 21 Gbps, which is no different from any other variant using the RTX 4090/AD102 chip. The same goes for its 16,384 CUDA Cores for rasterization, 512 Tensor Cores for DLSS 3.0 AI image upscaling, and 128 RT Cores for ray tracing.
It has a boost clock speed of 2550 MHz, which is slightly (about 1%) higher than the reference design Founders Edition model. Gigabyte recommends a 1000W power supply unit for this graphics card and you will need a single 16-pin power connector to power it. A potential downside of this card is that it only has a single HDMI 2.1a port, unlike some variants from other brands that feature two.
Design
This is one of the most elaborate RTX 4090 graphics card designs in the market. It has a triple fan cooler featuring 110mm Windforce Bionic Shark fans. The fan in the middle spins in the opposite direction to the ones on the side to decrease turbulence and increase airflow. Additionally, the card features vapor chamber cooling to keep the thermals in check. The larger form factor also means that it can house a beefier cooler, which improves thermals, reduces fan noise, and should give you more overclocking headroom.
There is RGB lighting around each of the fans as well as other parts of the GPU shroud. This creates an effect when the fans are spinning but is of course only visible if you mount the graphics card vertically. Another premium feature is a screen on the side of the graphics card that can be customized to display information and images. In this case, you can only see the display if the card is installed horizontally, so you will need to pick between being able to see the display and the RGB fan effect.
The Aorus RTX 4090 comes with a perforated backplate on the card that increases heat dissipation and adds rigidity, Gigabyte has also added a BIOS switch that allows you to switch between performance mode and silent mode. This does not significantly affect performance but tweaks the fan curve.
