MSI RTX 4090 Suprim Liquid X
The MSI RTX 4090 Suprim Liquid X 24G is one of a small number of hybrid AIO RTX 4090 variants.
Description
The MSI RTX 4090 Suprim Liquid X 24G is one of a small number of hybrid AIO RTX 4090 variants, and Suprim is MSI’s premium GPU brand. It competes with other liquid-cooled 4090 variants such as the ASUS ROG Matrix RTX 4090 Platinum and Aorus RTX 4090 Xtreme Waterforce.
On the AMD side, there are also liquid-cooled AMD Radeon 7900 XTX variants such as the PowerColor Liquid Devil RX 7900 XTX and ASRock Radeon RX 7900 XTX Aqua OC. In terms of performance, the 7900 XTX GPU more closely competes with the RTX 4080, however.
The target audience for the Suprim Liquid X is those seeking a compact liquid-cooled RTX 4090 but with no desire to build a custom water-cooling loop with a separate water block.

Like all other RTX 4090 cards, the Suprim Liquid X 24G features 16384 CUDA Cores, 512 Tensor Cores, 128 RT Cores, and 24 GB of GDDR6X memory that runs at 21 Gbps on a 384-bit memory bus.
Since this is a liquid-cooled variant, it should be able to boost significantly higher than the boost clock speed rated at 2625 MHz using the default BIOS. You also have the option to turn on ‘extreme performance mode’ in the MSI center app and hit 2640 MHz. In games, the clock speed can however be expected to go even higher. The liquid cooler also allows enthusiasts to overclock the card further compared to air-cooled variants.
For display output, you get a single HDMI 2.1a port and three DisplayPort 1.4a ports. You will need a single 16-pin power connector to power the graphics card, and MSI recommends a 1000 W power supply unit.
Design
The MSI RTX 4090 Suprim Liquid X 24G features a hybrid design, making it similar to the Asus Strix LC. Not only does it have a 240mm radiator that indirectly cools the GPU and the VRAM, but it also has a single fan on the shroud to dissipate heat directly from the card itself.
MSI has gone with a minimalist design, and also minimal lighting. The card comes in silver and grey. There is a lighting zone around the fan shroud, and the Suprim logo and branding light up as well. These are set to white by default, but offer RGB, so you can customize the lighting or turn it off completely.
While the card is pretty long, it is compact compared to other RTX 4090 variants, especially the air-cooled models. Inside the shroud, there is a custom water block that cools the GPU and the VRAM. The GPU shroud is made of metal and this also includes a metal backplate that matches the overall design of the card.
Reviews
In a perfect world where money and energy isn’t an object, this easily is my favourite card to one in the 4090 series.
I guess you can imagine how surprised I was when I started noise measurements and heard absolutely no noise from the card, in a quiet room with everything turned off.
